Strategy and software, in one set of hands.

Growing businesses often need senior leadership, a clear plan and better systems at the same time. Our partners step in as executives, lead strategy, transactions and operational change, and direct the engineers who build and run the technology.

Every executive seat

Partners have held CEO, COO, CFO, CIO, CTO and CISO roles.

Our own engineering

We design, build and run software in house.

AI in production

Intake, extraction, review agents and copilots in live workflows.

Partner-led, always

The partner who scopes the work runs it.

Most consulting ends at the recommendation. For a growing business, that is often where the hard part starts.

Owners usually know where the business is struggling. What they often lack is the time, the senior management capacity or the technical team to fix it properly, and to make the fix hold.

That is where we come in. A Bunnell Hill partner joins your leadership team, takes ownership of the problem, and stays until the result belongs to you.

Four practices, one leadership team

Sometimes the need is a senior executive. Sometimes it is a system that no longer works. Often it is both. We bring the leadership to make the decisions and the team to carry them out, so the owner is not managing separate consultants and developers.

Fractional and interim executives

Our primary practice

CEOCOOCFOCIOCTOCISO

A partner in the executive seat for as long as the work needs one. We work directly with owners and the leadership team, and with boards or investors when appropriate, make the decisions that come with the role, and develop the person who takes the seat over.

Strategy and transactions

Capital, deals and direction

Partners who have raised capital, bought companies and sold them. We help owners set direction, get the business ready for a raise or a sale, and run diligence and negotiation on either side of a deal, through close and integration.

Operations and transformation

How the business actually runs

For businesses that have outgrown how they work: the owner makes every decision and the same problems keep coming back. We find what is breaking, assign ownership and change how the business actually runs, especially where the work carries compliance rules.

Software, AI and managed services

We build it, and we run it

We take responsibility for the technology, not just the code. Our engineers design and build custom platforms, put AI agents into production workflows and keep the systems running after launch, with technology and security leadership at the table.

We build the software, and we run it

Most businesses do not need another technology vendor to supervise. Our engineers build the systems, keep them running after launch, and answer to a partner who understands the business problem.

  • Agentic case review against rule sets
  • In-product AI assistants
  • Multi-state eligibility and disbursement engines

Education finance

A multi-state scholarship platform, modernized and built to run under the client's ownership

A scholarship organization running programs in several states needed its platform to keep pace with growing volume and each state's rules. Bunnell Hill took responsibility for the technology from requirements through stabilization, upgraded eligibility, disbursement and audit workflow, and supports the platform while the organization's team runs it day to day.

Our role
Technology leadership, engineering and ongoing support
What we built
Multi-state eligibility logic, disbursement and audit workflow, school and family portals
What changed
One platform across every state program, run day to day by the client's team

Bankruptcy software

Taking the operating seat at a software company after acquisition

The company changed hands and needed operating leadership and a product rebuild at the same time. Bunnell Hill holds the senior operating seat while our engineers remediate the code, build a client intake portal that reads and extracts client documents, and add an AI assistant inside the product. Licensed professionals keep authority over every legal decision.

Private investment

Buy-side diligence and negotiation, from letter of intent to close

An investor needed an operator's read on an acquisition, not just a financial review. A CFO-level partner examined the financials and diligence materials, negotiated key deal points and guided the deal through close. It closed on target terms, and the firm was retained for ongoing advisory work.

How an engagement runs

Every engagement follows the same arc, whether it lasts a quarter or several years.

Learn the business from inside

A partner joins your leadership rhythm, reads the numbers, talks to the people doing the work, and agrees with you what success looks like in terms you can measure.

Run the plan

We carry the work ourselves. That can mean holding an executive seat, rebuilding a platform, closing a transaction, or all three, with the right partner on each.

Hand it to your team

We hire or develop the person who keeps the seat, document how the work runs, and step back. Many clients keep a partner on as an advisor afterward.

How the firm works

Bring us the problem you need someone to own.

Executed, not advised.

The first conversation is with a partner. We will talk through what you are facing, what you have already tried, and whether we are the right fit.

Conversations are confidential.
